Dr. Abati’s team enters Ethiopia to live with a tribe only recently studied: the Hamar. In accordance with the Hamar’s rules of hospitality, Dr. Abati is “adopted” by Kuelle, a family patriarch. The team observes an incipient form of apiculture, or beekeeping, and visits an exotic intertribal market, where Hamar youth participate in courting dances..
